It's Goose Week at the Reserve from Monday 30th October to Sunday 5th November. We'll have two evening goose watches from the Observation Tower on Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd November, as well as a talk on the geese by Ranger Sarah Stapleton on Saturday 4th November. We will be running an activity for Heritage Week in the Raven Nature Reserve on Wednesday 16th August from 11am to 1pm. The Butterfly Hunt will involve looking for butterflies and learning about them with some colouring and drawing thrown in for good measure!
Starting Thursday 6th April we will be having weekly activities down in the Raven Nature Reserve throughout July and August. Pond dipping on Tuesday and bug hunting on Thursday will take place at the first open area in the Raven. Activities are free of charge and weather dependant.
Join us in the Visitor Centre from Monday 3rd April to Sunday 16th April for Easter Bunny and Chick crafts. Free of charge and available from 10am to 4pm. Just turn up and get crafting!
We are now taking bookings for our Spring and Summer program of workshops in the Raven Nature Reserve. Further details can be found under the Education header above and you can also phone or email the Centre for more information.
The Visitor Centre will now be open every day from 9am to 5pm.
Next Tuesday 19th July, there will be Bug hunting in the Raven Nature Reserve between 10am and 12pm. No need to book, just turn up and follow the sign! This activity will take place every week during the school holidays on either a Tuesday or a Thursday, so keep checking back here, or on our facebook page, for further details.
The Life Insular project is a new project to protect and manage sand dune ecosystems. There are four sites across Ireland which are part of this; three in County Donegal and the Raven Nature Reserve. If you are a regular, or not so regular, visitor to the Raven, check out the website here and take the user survey.
The Visitor Centre and car park will be closed this Tuesday 21st June due to staff leave and will re-open the following day.
