World Wildlife Day
Join us on Sunday 3rd March to celebrate World Wildlife Day.
Visitor Centre
The Visitor Centre and Reserve will be closed this Tuesday 19th December so that all staff can join in our Christmas trip to South Wexford. We will be back open on Wednesday 20th at 9am.
Goose Watch
There will be a morning goose watch on Tuesday 12th December from 7.30am from the Observation Tower in the Visitor Centre. On the Friday of the same week, there will be an evening goose watch from 4pm. So if you'd like to see the geese flying into the Slob in the morning, or leaving in the evening, then give us a call on 01 539 3460 or email wwreducation@npws.gov.ie to book your place. Junior Birdwatching
If you know of a child with an interest in birdwatching then they may want to come along to the Centre on Saturday 25th November. Spaces are limited for this event so please call 01 539 3460 or email wwreducation@npws.gov.ie to book a place.
Goose Week 2023
It's Goose Week at the Reserve from Monday 30th October to Sunday 5th November. We'll have two evening goose watches from the Observation Tower on Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd November, as well as a talk on the geese by Ranger Sarah Stapleton on Saturday 4th November. Heritage Week
We will be running an activity for Heritage Week in the Raven Nature Reserve on Wednesday 16th August from 11am to 1pm. The Butterfly Hunt will involve looking for butterflies and learning about them with some colouring and drawing thrown in for good measure!
Summer Activities
Starting Thursday 6th April we will be having weekly activities down in the Raven Nature Reserve throughout July and August. Pond dipping on Tuesday and bug hunting on Thursday will take place at the first open area in the Raven. Activities are free of charge and weather dependant.
Easter at the Visitor Centre
Join us in the Visitor Centre from Monday 3rd April to Sunday 16th April for Easter Bunny and Chick crafts. Free of charge and available from 10am to 4pm. Just turn up and get crafting!
