TY work experience

This year the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve will be taking on Transition Year students for a week’s work experience in November.

Wexford Wildfowl Reserve TY Week 2019

Dates: Monday 18th November to Friday 22nd November 2019

Timetable:
Provisionally, students on TY Week will spend two days with the Education Office, two days with the Conservation Rangers and a day with our Birds Unit. This will be subject to staff availability and weather conditions.

Location and times:
Students will be expected to meet at the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve Visitor Centre in Ardcavan, Wexford at 9am each morning. From here they will be assigned their work for the day and will be back at the Centre each day by 4.30pm for collection. On Friday they will finish at 1pm.
If you cannot get to and from the Centre at these times please do not apply.

Equipment:
Students must wear suitable clothes and footwear for being outdoors in all weathers. They should also bring a packed lunch each day.

How to apply:
To apply, please complete an application form and send back either by post or email to the address stated.

Successful candidates:
Students who are offered a place on the TY programme shall be requested to complete and return a consent form, supplying school insurance details and parental permission which must be signed by a parent/guardian and by the TY teacher.

It is the responsibility of the student to return these forms to us by the date stated or their place shall be offered to someone else.
